The story
Uranus Refuge sits in an orbit around Uranus tuned to the planet’s sideways (98°) spin. Sunlight is about 1/370 of Earth’s; the panels give 1 MW and the power comes from 30 RTGs. Heated hangars keep frozen fuel flowing.
Only Voyager 2 (1986) has visited Uranus; the refuge is the logistics base for the first long missions to the planet and its moons. A hydrogen and helium-3 scooping platform draws fuel from the atmosphere.
Missions
- Real counterparts: Voyager 2 (1986), the proposed Uranus orbiter and probe
Colony note
A port, not a settlement. Only members of the Terra Empire may dock (join from the War tab).
What probes bring back
- Only Voyager 2 (1986) has visited Uranus; its axis is tilted 98°, it has 13 rings, and sunlight is about 1/370 of Earth’s.
- Scientists propose an orbiter and atmospheric probe for Uranus; this port would be the logistics base for it.
