The story
Weywot is Quaoar’s small moon; it was found with Hubble in 2006. It is named for the son of Quaoar, the sky god of Tongva mythology. About 80 km; it circles Quaoar at 13,300 km in 12.4 days. The surface is dark and reddish.
Because Quaoar’s rings lie far beyond the Roche limit, Weywot’s interaction with them is under study: why the ring has not clumped into a moon is not fully explained.
