The story
Limes Outpost is the Terra Empire’s farthest port: around Neptune, at the edge of the Kuiper belt. From here the Sun is only a bright star (about a thousandth of the light on Earth); solar panels are useless, so power comes from 40 RTGs and a small fission reactor (Kilopower type).
The 70 m deep-space dish looks out of the Solar System, and an early-warning radar watches everything that comes in from outside. Heated hangars and a fuel depot make it the last stop for ships bound for the Kuiper belt and beyond.
