The story
Jove Anchorage is the Terra Empire’s junction in the outer system. It sits outside Jupiter’s lethal radiation belts, about 2.4 million km out. Sunlight here is about a twenty-seventh of Earth’s; so the 15 MW panels are only a supplement and the main power comes from 24 RTGs (plutonium-238).
Heavily shielded hangars protect crews, a 30 m dish links the bases on the Galilean moons, and a hydrogen-scooping platform draws fuel from Jupiter’s atmosphere. A natural stop for trips to the belt and the outer system.
Missions
- The outer-system junction
- Real counterparts: Juno and JUICE (Jupiter), Cassini (RTGs for power)
Colony note
A port, not a settlement. Only members of the Terra Empire may dock.
What probes bring back
