The story
Among the nearest candidates to the Sun in a habitable zone: an Earth-mass rocky planet that could allow liquid water (a catalogue estimate). Its star is a small, cool M dwarf, so the planet sits very close to it and turns a year in 4.9 days.
Very likely tidally locked: one face always lit, the other always dark. For life the âtwilight ringâ at the edge is the hopeful zone. The numbers come from radial-velocity measurements; the planetâs true make-up is not known.
